The C-Clamp is a tool you use to hold two pieces of wood together. The A-List is a group of people who think they are better than you are. And the D-Ring is where the military and new media collide.
The world is changing and the way we communicate is changing even faster. The introducation and adoption of new media technologies is impacting the way individuals, businesses and organizations are talking. It is also having a profound effect on the military.
This blog takes a look at the military in the context of the new media environment. I’ll be writing about the “milblogging” phenomenon and the controversy to balance communication with the safety of our Soldiers. I will be talking about recruiting and the necessity to communicate with prospective servicemen and women through their media. I will look at the way the enemies are using video and images online. I will look at the practices, successes and foibles of defense contractors
And that is just the beginning.
But this site is nothing without you. Please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions so we can begin a dialogue and come up with some ways the military can better engage in this new media environment. Or, if you have an idea for a post, feel free to shoot me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to exploring the brave new world where the military and new media intersect.
